What is Siami?
Siami is the place for people who snowboard, kitesurf, dive and surf. It has a page for each spot with today's conditions, the ranking of spots in each country, athletes' profiles with their level shown with its source, and the shops, schools and events of each sport.
You need no account to browse. An account lets you have your profile, follow someone, save spots and claim a profile that is yours.
What do the four lanes mean?
Every item on a profile carries one of four lanes, which say where it comes from:
- Certified: an official qualification (from a diving agency, a kitesurf school, a federation) that a person has reviewed.
- Accredited: sessions signed by a school.
- Documented: it comes from a public source, and the link to that source is next to it.
- Declared: the person says so and nobody has checked it.
Declared information is never mixed with verified information: it has its own line and its own chip.
Where do today's conditions come from?
From public weather data (Open-Meteo): wind, waves, snow and temperature at each spot, summarised as a bar from 1 to 5, a word and the reason, with the time they were calculated. If we have no data, we say so. It is not an official forecast. Before going out, check the conditions on site and follow the school and the lifeguards.
How is the spot ranking built?
From what is known about each spot in its sport and country. Each position comes with its explanation and the date of the calculation.
How do I book with a school or a shop?
On their own website: the "Book on their website" button takes you there. Siami does not book or charge anything.
I run a school, how do I join?
Leave your details in For schools and we will write to you.
I appear on Siami but never joined, what can I do?
We built that profile from information that was already public, and every item has the link to its source. You can claim it with your account and manage it, or ask us to delete your data without an account. It is all in Delete your data.
How do I delete my account?
From Your account on the website, or from the app. It is immediate. What is deleted and what is kept is in Delete your data.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes: 16 to have a public profile.
